a note from Joan
It's not just a couch. It's where you'll pray, cry, laugh and nap. Mostly nap.
I've always loved beautiful things that nobody else has. Old frames with good bones, fabrics that look like they belong in a grand old house, and colours that feel like a hug. So I started rescuing couches and giving them a second life, the same way grace gives us one.
Joan was my mother's name too. It means “God is gracious,” and that's the heart of everything here. So each collection carries the name of a woman who shaped me, and every piece is named after a psalm, because I want your favourite seat to remind you that you're held.

Pay a 50% deposit
That locks in your fabric and your spot in the workshop queue.
We make it by hand
New webbing, springs, foam and fabric. I'll send you progress pics because I can't help myself.
Delivered in 3–4 weeks
Balance on delivery. Then you sit down, sigh happily, and send me a photo.

Do you deliver?
Yes, across KwaZulu-Natal. Durban metro delivery is [DELIVERY FEE]. Further afield, we'll quote you.
Can I see fabric samples?
Of course. Pop into the café or ask me to post swatches. Touching velvet is basically therapy.
Will it survive kids and dogs?
Our velvets are rated for heavy use, and I'll recommend the toughest fabric for your home. Grace covers a lot. So does a good throw.
